I love this front garden. It has a simple box parterre and a magnolia tree, which has such as beautiful form that it looks lovely even when not in flower. Perfect.
I was admiring the Magnolias at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens a couple of weeks ago. They’d crown lifted theirs – it really helped to show of the architectural form of the branches. It’s also done to let light in to the underplanting, so there’s the possibility of having lots of later seasonal interest without it being shaded out.
